Miki Beddeleem is a director and first assistant director based in Antwerp. He trained in fiction film at RITCS in Brussels and has spent the past eight years on sets for commercials, series and short films. Usually he's the one keeping the day on schedule; sometimes he's the one calling the shots and saying "action".
Before film took over, he spent four years as a sous-chef. He still runs a set like a kitchen: good prep, clear timing, and everyone fed and home on time.
As a director, Miki works in fiction and commercials, with a soft spot for absurd humour and characters slightly out of step with the world. His graduation film Aller-Retour came close to winning the Humo Award at Kortfilmfestival Leuven. He also wrote and directed Stockholm, a thriller-comedy short. His commercial work includes spots for IKEA, JIM Mobile, Club Brugge, Quick and Schlagerfestival, as well as in-house directing and concept work at Happiness Brussels.
